Music groups in 1960 for everybody
We can’t talk about music groups from the 60s without talking about The Beatles. They were actually formed in the 1960 in Liverpool and the group had 4 members: John Lennon, Ringo Star, Paul McCartney and George Harrison. They had pop and also rock songs, so they were also playing some instruments, like drums or guitars (rhythm guitar and bass guitar). They had a great popularity along the teenagers of that times and many of the songs were written by themselves. They were simply the best of those times, and even the Queen Elizabeth II recognizes it when she gave them the MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) recognition. Some of the most famous songs played by the Beatles are “All You Need is Love”, “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds”, “Yellow Submarine” and “I Wanna Hold Your Hand” etc. Sadly, in 1970 the Beatles decided to break up the band.
The Rolling Stones are the one of the oldest bands, because it is still playing, even if it was formed in 1962. The vocalist of the band is Mick Jagger, a very famous artist. The band is also formed by Ronnie Wood, Keith Richards and Charlie Watts. Because they are singing from such much time, they were trying different styles, like rock music, blues and even rock and roll music. They had very much success in Europe and after the “British invasion”, they had success also in America. Since then, they had released 24 albums and sold two hundred million albums all around the world. Their latest album was released 5 years ago, it is a rock genre album and it’s name is “A Bigger Bang”. It has a more contemporaneous sound and the band requested some additional musicians also, like Blondie Chaplin. Some of the most famous songs from this album are “Streets of Love” and “Back of My Hand”.
The Beach Boys band was formed in 1961 and still plays today. In the present The Beach Boys band is formed by 4 members. Their music is influenced by different genres, like art rock, traditional pop or surf rock. They have 29 released albums and during the time they had many singles in the U.S. Top 40. In the “100 Greatest Artists of All Time” (a top made by the Rolling Stones magazine), they have the 12 position, after Bob Marley.
